Equal amongst unequals.

Updated: Jun 24, 2021

In my travels around the globe, I've met people of all races and colours. People are the same everywhere. They come in weird shapes and sizes but are equally foolish, that's the only trait that humans possess equally irrespective of the creed or region. (stupidity binds us.).

In some of the diverse areas of Asia, I've met people of the same colour and race but following different faiths and religions.

It's quite interesting that humans emerged in different parts of the world in small pockets, they survived natural calamities and invented and discovered items of use. They reproduced and made more of them, If you ask me I'd say reproducing at that rate was a bad idea from the start but no complaints regarding the process, though! (10/10 would recommend).

After many years they migrated to other parts of the world for various reasons and mostly the reason was greed, So in a way, greed was the cause of globalization. (very unpopular opinion).

I've seen that humans have this need to satiate their egocentric needs and they do that by projecting themselves as superior using hate as a tool. Throughout history, humans have waged war against each other over silly and trivial physical differences based on colour, philosophical differences such as religion and faith, and territorial and materialistic greed.

And after a lot of these wars and blatant destruction. Even though there was a lot left to wage war for, humans eventually realized that hosting a war and participating in it is too much work and neither party is completely happy with the results. It's not like the Olympics, though one party does win gold, it reeks of blood.

It's like the old saying, play stupid games win stupid prizes.

Now that wars are out of the way, there must be something else that they can channel that egocentric hate and aggression towards because at the end of the day, they need to feel happy about something, right? So they re-invented slavery and oppressed people who did not share the same physical appearance as them. This worked for them, sadly!.

This was different for different people, it was the white vs black in some continents and it was a predetermined social structure in somewhere a particular sect of people we treated as slaves and were subordinate to others. (Why? you ask. Obviously, because an old book said so)

Enough with the sad history class, and I don't suppose anyone had a beautiful past, everyone was equal with respect to that.

This can be considered as a thought experiment, Just ask yourself if you're proud of the region, religion, colour, and physical attributes you're born with, and if your answer is "yes", then I have new for you, you are part of the problem. There is nothing to be proud of about the probability of your birth. You got lucky if you were born in a beautiful region with good neighbors and a silver spoon? (Anyway, moving on.), and if you were born in a poor country with your family worshipping aliens then, sucks to be you, I guess.

So, the first thing is to replace the emotion of pride with gratefulness and for the people in the latter case, just try to be grateful for whatever you have.

For the people who were at the receiving end of oppression, Don't take out your anger towards your fellow humans in the present because their ancestors did stupid things in the past., that's like someone slapping you because your niece's dog bit her neighbor's thumb, sounds dumb right? figured. Revenge based on history is not a solution.

And to the people on the other end of the spectrum, What makes you so proud? There is nothing to be proud of being the great-grandson of an oppressor or a slave master., the only emotion that should cross your mind is disgust for your ancestors.

Because we are on the same topic of equality. What's up with Patriarchy? If one fights for equality amongst men, then it's obvious that that emotion of fair treatment transcends to people of all other genders too. We can't ignore that and have double standards and expect people to see us having a moral high ground.

It is such a short time that we spend here on this planet and to spend it on hating people who have done nothing to hurt us is a case of misplaced priorities.

It's high time that we give this world and the society in it another chance and spread love because that's something which doesn't take much out of us and would multiply. There can be a million reasons to hate someone but you don't need a single reason to like or love someone.

To the people, those who don't want to spread their limited love to random people on the streets, just do the bare minimum of treating everyone equally.

That'll suffice. :)
